Author Guidelines
Hikami : Ilmu Alquran dan Tafsir
Hikami was first published in 2019 and has been published twice a year since 2020. The articles must be original, not published, and not under review for possible publication in other journals. All submitted manuscripts will undergo blind peer review by qualified academics in their respective fields. This process may take several weeks or months.
The submitted manuscripts should have relevance and contribute something to the measurement in psychology and education. The manuscript should include: 300-word Abstract (in both English and Indonesian), Introduction, Method, Results (findings), Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations, and References. Contributors from outside Indonesia can only submit an abstract in English.
The articles to be submitted to this journal should include the following:
• Article information: This is your chance to grab the reader's attention. Remember that the readers are potential authors who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the paper. Start with the subject of the paper. The title should be accurate, unambiguous, specific, and complete. Avoid abbreviations that are rarely used. The title should not exceed 16 words. Author's name: written in full without titles. Institution: provided in full, including the study program and institution name. Corresponding author: include name and email address. All contributing authors' names should be added, and their names should be arranged in the correct order for publication. The correct email address should only be provided by the corresponding author. The full names of each author should be in the exact format as they should appear for publication, including or excluding any required middle names or initials. The affiliations of each contributing author should be accurate to their respective names.
The criteria for authorship are as follows: Substantial contribution to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content; Final approval of the version to be published; Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
• Abstract:
The abstract should be clear, concise, and descriptive. It should provide a brief introduction to the problem, the paper's objectives, followed by a statement of the methodology and a brief summary of the results. The abstract should end with comments on the significance of the results or a brief conclusion. The abstract should be written in 11 pt Centaur font and should not exceed 300 words.
• Keywords:
Components, formatting, style, insertions (3-5 words).
• Introduction:
In the Introduction, the author should state the purpose of the work at the end of the introduction section. Before the objective, the author should provide adequate background and a very brief literature survey to record existing solutions/methods, to show which one is best among previous research, to indicate the major limitations of previous research, to show what needs to be done. You hope to achieve (to overcome the limitations), and to demonstrate the scientific value or novelty of the paper. Avoid detailed literature surveys or summary of results.
• Method:
Materials and methods should enable readers to reproduce the experiment. Provide enough detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Published methods should be indicated by reference: only relevant modifications should be described. Do not repeat details of methods already published.
• Results and Discussion:
The results should be clear and concise. They should summarize the findings (scientific) rather than providing data in great detail. Highlight the differences between your results or findings and previous publications by other researchers. The discussion should explore the significance of the work's results, not merely repeat them. The Results and Discussion sections are often combined. Avoid extensive quoting and discussion of published literature. In the discussion, this is the most important part of your article. Here, you have the opportunity to sell your data. Make the discussion relevant to the results, but do not simply repeat the results. It should often start with a brief summary of the main scientific findings (not experimental results). The following components should be discussed in the discussion: How do your results relate to the questions or initial objectives outlined in the Introduction (what)? Do you provide a scientific interpretation for each result or finding you present (why)? Are your results consistent with what has been reported by other investigators (what else)? Or are there differences?
• Conclusion:
The conclusion should answer the research objectives. It should tell how your work advances this field from the current state of knowledge. Without a clear conclusion, reviewers and readers will have difficulty evaluating the work and its suitability for publication in the journal. Avoid repeating the abstract or listing only experimental results. Provide a clear scientific justification for your work and show potential applications and extensions. You should also suggest future experiments and/or indicate ongoing experiments.
• References (using APA-7 style):
It is recommended to use reference managers such as Mendeley and Zotero.
